Casino Gaming Vets Spooky Cool Labs Acquired by Zynga
Congratulations to the Spooky Cool Labs, a Chicago, Ill.-based gaming studio focusing heavily on real-money gambling titles since it is acquired by Zynga.
Let’s hear it from Barry Cottle, Zynga’s Chief Revenue Officer, on the occasion of its great acquisition. He posted on the following on the company’s blog-
“We have a legacy in social casino franchises with Zynga Poker, and we believe that free-to-play social casino games for the Web and on mobile have the potential to reach and connect a much broader audience.” He further added, “Spooky Cool Labs is the right team to help us bring the feeling of being on a casino floor and the thrill of hitting a big jackpot right to players wherever they play.”
By his words, it is easy to make out that the acquisition was done happily with a proper consent of both the parties.
The terms of the deal, which were first noted by TechCrunch, are yet to be disclosed. According to Zynga, the real money titles are a big bet that will lead to a comparatively bright future within a couple of months. Lately in the United Kingdom, they have launched two of its fantastic first real-money games, ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino. Operating across several countries of Europe is only possible because of its partnership with bWin, a major operator of licenses for online real money gaming websites in some European nations.
Zynga strives hard to establish an online gaming market in the United States. However, it is somehow difficult for them due to some restrictions on online gambling over there. U.S. is one of nascent markets for Zynga. All the necessary legislation procedures and lobbying efforts make take a year or two for Zynga to start up its online market in U.S.
Spooky Cool Labs will stay based in Chicago. Its founder Joe Kamiko will also continue to lead the game design for Aristocrat Leisure Limited, a major slot machine company based in Australia.
